Club news 13 April 2018

Looks like I was a bit premature with my excitement about the sun last week. And no one knows this more than Chairman Tom who has quite ironically been battling excess water in his bid to raise funds for Water Aid.

In case you didn’t know, this week Tom and his brother took on the immense challenge of running a marathon a day, travelling the length of the Thames. Flooding, mud and immense cramp have hampered progress but the Lees brothers have been battling on - so fingers crossed they will have completed their challenge by the end of the weekend.

If you wish to reward their stupidity, I mean bravery, you can sponsor them here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/thames-will-and-tom.

As Tom was setting off on his first marathon, other members of the club were taking on the Winter GP Bones Lane TT.
The next Winter GP event is next Sunday 22nd April – the Hill TT which involves a 25ish mile cycle, taking in three of the best (or is that worst?!) hills in the area.

In other news we are hosting the race recce on Saturday 28th April, where all East Grinstead Triathlon race entrants are given the opportunity to come down and familiarise themselves with the run and cycle route. If you were unable to make the open morning last week this is annother great opportunity to find out a bit more about the race and the club (see poster below).

So please come and join us to find out why we're one of the most friendly clubs in the area.
