When Head Coach and LPG Martin Darlison says that someone is on his short list of inspirational sporting heroes you know it's worth reporting! And so, huge congratulations to Val Mclaren who’s just back from the World Masters Games in New Zealand with a silver medal gained in the 2500m Ocean Swim 70-75 age group! Val’s understated report of two cyclones and the wettest April on record concludes with news that her goggles got knocked off in the race when she struck, or was struck by, a very large log! Heroic doesn’t come close - well done Val!

Andy Peel’s reports on his latest Races are located HERE and if anyone else has similar over the coming months then let either myself or Webmaster Mike know and we will publish for others to enjoy?

Good Luck on Sunday to new Club Members racing at the East Grinstead Triathlon; Karen Spackman (No. 532) in the Try-a-Tri and Colin Mayes (370) and David Flynn (41) in the Sprint - be assured that you will receive huge support all the way around from those standing around in hi-viz jackets!

And finally, an early thank you to all of you helping out over this coming weekend in whatever capacity and for however long you can. Remember it’s still not too late to rope in a few more helpers as there is always jobs to be done not matter how young, old or infirm they may be - after all, the Race Director qualifies in two of those categories!
