Not unusually I start with an apology or two! Firstly, Juhana Kirk sent me the news that he finished 15th overall in the South Downs Way 50 mile ultra race earlier in April. A PB by 8 seconds on his previous attempt at the event and a frankly staggering time of 7:42:28 – how is that even possible for 50 miles? Similarly I should have mentioned Karen Mycock's 4:16:43 at Brighton Marathon – brilliant run Karen.

Martin has asked me to remind you all that OWS starts again at Weirwood Reservoir on Tue 25 April. Details at popupopenwaterswims.vpweb.co.uk – enjoy the water if you are brave enough?

We finish the WGP with the Sprint Triathlon on Saturday 22nd April and if there are a couple of helpers that would be great? The race will start at 7.00am in the pool – all starting together! Transition in the carpark by the Pavilion and the distance will be the original 500m swim, 26km cycle and 5km run. If you don't want to take part then can I ask that you swim in the later session please? That will also mean you can come outside afterwards and cheer them all home! In particular you will need to watch the battle for overall victory between Dave Mycock and Tim Coogan in the Male Senior and Rob Bream and Roger Taylor in the Male Vet categories – bring it on!

Saturday 29th April is when we will be running the Race Recce and I'll be asking all of you who can to come along and show the Race entrants around the cycle and run routes. If you can do one and not the other then that's fine – any help gratefully received. Cycle groups going out from around 9.00am onwards and you can choose which route you want to do, thanks in advance!

Finally, as you are all aware now is the time to be letting Cathy know that you are available to help out at the EG Triathlon over the w/end 13 & 14 May. Any assistance at any time is welcome and do encourage friends, family and neighbours to come along as well – the more the easier it is!

Train safe

Jump update – low cloudbase meant we didn't get to skydive so rearranged as below;

On April 28th 2017 I will be joining the Mayor of Crawley's Sky Jump team leaping out of a plane at 10,000 feet raising money for local charities. If you'd like to donate then please follow the link;

Thanks for your support - see you when I land!
