We start this week with a belated apology! My bad (as I believe it is said) as I failed to spot the differences in the Gary's who took part in the WGP Swim TT! It was of course Mr Sims who recorded an excellent 21:10 and not Mr Vickers of the same forename! This then required Mr Chairman to re-look at the CSP for the event which now goes to Zoe Dumsday for excellent pace control which saw her steadily improve her time over each 200m time slot – congratulations and my apologies again to the Gary's!

Hopefully no such errors in the WGP Swim/Run which took place on Sat 18 Feb? The unaturally benign weather encouraged many to take part and it was Rob Bream who was first home with Emily Miles taking 4th overall and 1st Lady. Of course it might have been a different result if Rich Smith had not stopped halfway through the swim to answer a call of nature! Clearly we are rateful that he got out of the pool but it did mean he was plum last to finish that section! A run nearly two minutes quicker than anyone else got him into the top 10 but what might have been? In an unprecedented show of generosity, Mr Chairman has awarded the CSP to LPG Martin Darlison who is clearly getting his running legs back and enjoying being in the MSV category by coming third overall! Great effort by the little fella!

This Sunday (5th March) its the WGP Duathlon so a chance for all you cyclists to show your early season form? If you've not done this one before its a 3km run/11km cycle/2km format out of Kings utilizing the EG Tri run and Try-a-Tri bike courses. Generally its fast and furious and finished in time for a slap up breakfast at bluebell's afterwards! Set up from 8.00am with a mass start at 8.30am – see you there?

I've not had a chance to look through the Brighton Half Marathon results from today but lets assume you all did brilliantly and are grateful that Storm Doris ended when it did? I also covered 21km+ today walking through the local Sussex countryside but I suspect I was considerably slower than all of you? Fun all the same!

Martin's March Training Guide should be with you – why not take on board all the suggestions and maybe you'll have as successful and long (very, very long) career in Triathlon as him? I should also add congratulations to Fran Davis who recently passed her BTF Level 2 Coaching Award – well done and thoroughly well deserved

That's it – train safe
