Weir Wood swimming is under new management now with lots of improvements and they have offered us this exclusive EG Tri Club members sessions on Mondays during the summer season.  It is a fantastic opportunity to acclimatise for OWS races, get used to an open water environment and get some coaching on specific OWS skills.

Our session will run from 6:30pm until 7:30pm.  There will be session plans to follow each week if you wish providing some variety and tailored for beginners and longer distances to practice skills, and improve your OWS conditioning over the weeks.  There will be a long course marked with buoys for the distance swimmers and a shorter loop also.  Coached sessions are schedule on the first Monday of each month (alternating between beginners and experienced swimmers).  The first one is on 2 May for the “Experienced” group – not compulsory but might help!  We will also arrange some other events e.g. Aquathlons, swim races, BBQ.

You will need to pay a £10 membership to Aldo before your first swim, which goes towards improving facilities and you will be registered to be able to swim at Weir Wood at their open sessions on Tues pm and Sat am as well as our Monday EGTC sessions (see www.popupopenwaterswims.vpweb.co.uk)

Each swim costs £6 when you arrive, and early season swims will be discounted to £4 until 9 May as a special offer.  Alternatively you can pay £99 for the whole season which provides a big saving – cheques payable to “Aldo Gualtieri”.

You will need the following equipment….
Wetsuit (mandatory)
Hi-Viz or bright coloured swim hats (mandatory)
Towel & warm clothes for afterwards
Flip flops or trainers to walk to & from the jetty

We are also looking into the possibility of a wetsuit deal with Zone3 – more news to follow.

Many thanks to Aldo and Marcus at Weir Wood for making us so welcome and I look forward to seeing you on the lakeside.
