Couple of recent local half marathons to report on as some members took part whilst others actually raced! As both Tunbridge Wells and Brighton have rather large fields you'll excuse me if I haven't found your results – maybe if you let me know in advance and/or add the club name to your entry it would help? Anyaway, congratulations once again to Jane Roberts for dragging dear old Keith around at TWells in 2:04:32 – just think how much faster you might be without his encumbrance? Of course the same could be said of Mark Lofting at Brighton who sacrificied his own time (1:54:28) to nurse yours truly to the 13 mile marker – believe me I needed his help for every step of the final three miles! Meanwhile, up the road, Darren Holman scorched around in 1:27:46 followed by Dave Mycock (1:33:53) and Karen Mycock (1:40:56). Thanks Mark for all your help in getting me through in 1:54:56 – best time in years!

Martin has issued an excellent guide to training through March and also wants to flag up the following;

As a reminder, the Winter evening Turbo sessions are still taking place in the Pump House at the Kings Centre 7:30-8:30 every Wednesday and provide some ‘must-have’ pre-season conditioning.  The sessions will continue to the end of March, following which there will be a series of Turbo Brick sessions during April at the same location with runs around the Kings field or around the EG Tri Route.

Lots of other activities in March to take part in as well. This Sunday (5th) its the WGP Duathlon starting at 8.30am from Kings. The run/cycle/run format suits those of you who find the pool a challenge – whilst I find the idea of running twice an anathema! I'd like an assistant to help with timings if anyone is at a loose end? The following Sunday (13th) its the 2nd Sunday Ride and we will be at the Burgess Hill Sportive for the 54 mile Challenge version – see you there? And then on the 20th March you have the chance to help with the EG Aquathon – see Pete Holley to get a suitable job!

That's all folks!

Train safe.......
