HAPPY NEW YEAR to all our readers!

I trust Santa brought you all the lycra, weird training aids or bike components that you wished for? Of course the New Year is the perfect time to make loads of training resolutions as well as renewing your club membership which will enable you to come along and meet like-minded delusional individuals! Personally I'm using the excuse that the date for my supposed A race in 2016 hasn't yet been set as the reason for a short hiatus in my commencing training! Am I alone in that?

Anyway, Saturday swimming recommences on the 2nd January with Core and Run sessions to follow – why not do all three, just remember a t-shirt for swimming? Martin has provided a January Training Plan and if you add in the superb Wednesday night turbo there really is no excuse?

Further ahead in the month, 2nd Sunday Ride on the 10th (subject to weather/road conditions). Alex will run a yoga session on Sat 16th as Kim will be skiing and we will be having a short meeting at 9.15am for those interested in being involved in a possible Junior section for the club. The Winter GP starts with the Vale Gallop on Sun 24th www.thevalegallop.co.uk for entry details.

Slightly further ahead, the 2nd Sunday Ride in March coincides with the Burgess Hill Springtime Classic Sportive www.srs-events.cc and I'm thinking the Challenge Ride @ 54 miles should be manageable as a social ride? Let me know if you fancy some company?
