Big hand this week to Andrew Drake who completed his first Ironman race – IM Copenhagen – in an excellent 11:05:15, well done and he’s looking forward now to getting fat over the winter apparently?

Martin has cancelled the Transition Skills session programmed for this Saturday morning and we’ll revisit that at some point next Season.

And talking of next Season, Simon Powell reports that he’s planning some Duathlon’s for early next year to give his training this winter some purpose – as if recovering from his big smash wasn’t purpose enough? The collar bone and the left ankle are the issues outstanding with physio and regular visits to Dunk’s massage table being the order of the day. He’s begun some very short runs (probably at a pace most humans can’t match) and continues to force his children into helping him on/off the turbo! For those who know “Crasher” you’ll not be surprised to learn that his brand new Cyclocross bike is likely to remain in mint condition in the garage to prevent further damage to his broken bones and his reputation in that branch of the sport (ask him when you see him!) He has promised to come along to the pool at some point during Oktoberfest and do some kick drills in the water – albeit we may need the hoist to get him in/out?

Simon had offered to host a session during Oktoberfest on “recovering from injury” (he’d had a lot of practice even before his accident) but at the moment you’ll have to forgo that pleasure as the programme is full with just some final dates to be confirmed. I will get final information out to you probably next week? And in answer to several queries I have received, yes Tom Lees will be batting left handed in the Rounders Re-match!

Good Luck to those off to the Vitruvian and XTERRA this w/end and anyone else racing elsewhere? Don’t forget to let me know how you get on?
