Race honours this week to Annie Sedgwick (Sprint) and Joan Wingfield (Standard) who won their respective Age Groups at the recent Bewl Triathlon. Also there and just missing out on an AG podium place in 4th, was Richard Smith with Neil Clark completing the EG Purple force! In the slightly (?) more refined environs of Henley, Helen Fairs donned the neoprene to complete the standard distance event in a very creditable time. I’ll also congratulate any of you who where at the London Tri over the w/end but the results are too long and complicated for me to determine exactly who you are!

Last weeks 2nd Sunday Ride was a very enjoyable trip that included both a coffee stop in Westerham and an attempt by Darren Legrand to swipe the “Crash of the Year” prize from the current Simon/Martin deadlock! In the opinion of the judging team who where present, Darren scored a low mark on the “lack of skill” criteria in tumbling off at a very low kerb edge, although the embarrassment factor of being in Westerham High Street and only yards from the coffee shop substantially increased his overall score! Nevertheless, our two current leaders need have no fear of being supplanted as the resultant road rash injury to his elbow barely broke the skin! My thanks to Fran, Simon Neave and Richard Cooney for joining in the morning’s fun!

Don’t forget the two training sessions Martin is running later this month; OWS Race Skills @ Weirwood on Thu 20th and Transition Training @ Kings on Sat 29th. Both essential for those competing anywhere before the end of the season – let me know how you get on and I can publicise your triumphs to the world!

And finally, don’t forget that the world will end if you do not buy your ticket for the Club Xmas Party on Sat 5th December – actually given the deluge outside my window at present it might be sooner than that!

Train safe

Ps I’m giving the LPG another go at writing the News next week – lets see if he can improve?
