Results first this week – or at least those I know about?

Neil Clark was 19th at the Mini Marshman a couple of weeks ago – sorry I missed it first time around Neil!Meanwhile at Ardingly on Sunday a very damp crew of purple warriors were taking part in the various races put on by Paul Hedger and his brave team at Hedgehog Tri – chapeau to all who competed and stood out in the weather to marshal! In the Standard event (for big boys) Tom Lees won his AG and was 19th overall whilst Mike Sutton was 24th and 4th in his AG – well done guys! At roughly the same time in the Sprint race (for those who couldn't manage an open water swim) Adam Grange was flying round for 2nd overall and a win in his age group, which was unlucky for Andy Peel who had to settle for 2nd in the same AG and 9th overall – not bad lads but man up next time! As always, if you've been racing and want my completely unbiased and ill informed verdict on your efforts then let me know where and when and I'll publish for all to see?

Last weeks news of course contained the sensational story of the erection of the EGTC shed and Mr Chairman is now looking for assistance in moving the race gear from Cathy's garage to its new home, forthwith to be known as Lilliput Town Hall. If you own a large vehicle, or are a very small person with a normal sized vehicle, and can help with this move then please let him know on Saturday? One or two trips should be sufficient with enough willing hands?

For those of you who have been working with me on the A4A grant application I have to tell you that sadly we've not been successful. I'll not go into the detail here but can fill you in when I see you and we can maybe discuss if we wish to apply again in a different format? My thanks to all of you who contributed to the exercise and the information gleaned won't be wasted as we will use it to assist with some future proposals for club activities and development.

Next Sunday (14 June) is 2nd Sunday Bike Ride and I'm thinking maybe one of the events at the Etape du Sussex might be fun to do? If you fancy either the Tour (47 miles) or Challenge (60 miles) then let me know asap and we'll sign up? Discounts for group bookings!

Think that's it for this week – did I mention the Xmas Party on 5th December?
