Late news in that Mr Chairman has decided to award a CVSP for the overall 2015 WGP to Alex Langridge. Just about every event was a first time for her and she should be justifiably proud of her efforts – we all are! Well done Alex!

Huge congratulations to Keith Roberts on completing the London Marathon in a very well judged 4:16 on Sunday – one can only imagine Jane's relief as he crossed the finish line! Recently ex-EGTC member Louise Saville also finished in a fine 3:28. Great job well done to both of them.

So, this Saturday morning is your chance to shine! The Club and the EG Race has a wonderful reputation for its friendly and inclusive approach to triathlon and I need your help to further enhance our standing by helping out with the Race Recce from 9.00am. Lots of beginners turn up looking for help, advice and guidance which you can provide by cycling with them around either the Try-a-Tri or Sprint bike course, as appropriate, and then a lap of the run course. If you only want to do one and not the other then that's fine – just let me know on the morning. As if you need the incentive, all those who help get a free swim (+ Core if that's your thing) and the warm, fuzzy feeling of having help a newbie enjoy their first taste of this great sport! Thanks in advance to all of you for your help.

This in from Mike – who I hope will forgive me for pointing out (but not correcting) a wonderful spelling mistake – see if you spot it?

Mike Cowell is planning to do a 22.5 mile off-road ride around the East Grinstead area on Sunday 3rd May - leaving from Kings at 9am. The route takes in Forest Way, bridal paths, woodland trails, farm tracks, Worth Way and only a few proper roads. An MTB is a must! Please let Mike know via web@egtri.com or at the club on Saturday if you would like to join in.

As always, I need to remind you to let either myself or Cathy know when and where you'd like to work on Race Day – please note those are the ONLY two options available! If nothing else I'm sure you'll want to be able to say “I was there” to the sight of Le Petit General in his original 30 year old tri suit!
