    Weekly News 6 July 2017

Three main bits of News this week, including a truly epic story from our Far East correspondent “Little” Dave Spence. But first news of another epic race result from the running machine, Juhana Kirk: Apologies for my recent absence at Saturday swimming, I have had a few weeks of excessive food and beer having completed the South Downs Way 100 mile Ultra on June 10th. Pain without bounds more or less start to finish, beastly hot and little shade the whole way, but a great result 24th place out… More....

So, as this Saturday is the 1st July it starts this week! Clearly with that session running until 8.25am we have also dropped Core for the summer – although I'm sure Jan would be happy to see you at one of the many local classes she runs? Normal service will be resumed on Sat 2nd September. In other news, congrats to Noel Miles who won the Tresco… More....

Was my second time and will be back again next year. Really well organised thank you.” “I just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone at East Grinstead tri club for such a well organised event yesterday. I took part in the ladies try a tri and all the organisers and marshals around the course couldn't have been nicer or more supportive. They… More....

    Weekly News 11 May 2017

When Head Coach and LPG Martin Darlison says that someone is on his short list of inspirational sporting heroes you know it's worth reporting! And so, huge congratulations to Val Mclaren who’s just back from the World Masters Games in New Zealand with a silver medal gained in the 2500m Ocean Swim 70-75 age group! Weekly News 5 May 2017

    Weekly News 27 April 2017

First a reminder to the Thursday Night Swim team that we have secured a third lane from Thu 27th April and this should help to ease congestion at what has become a very popular session? The running machine that is Juhana Kirk continues to astound with a 7 minute PB at the London Marathon 2:51:31! He claims the wheels came off a bit at the end but not as much as the famous “assisted over the line runner” who was being carried over as he finished! Great racing also at the final 2017WGP event -… More....

    Weekly News 21 April 2017

Not unusually I start with an apology or two! Firstly, Juhana Kirk sent me the news that he finished 15th overall in the South Downs Way 50 mile ultra race earlier in April. A PB by 8 seconds on his previous attempt at the event and a frankly staggering time of 7:42:28 – how is that even possible for 50 miles? Similarly I should have mentioned Karen Mycock's 4:16:43 at Brighton Marathon – brilliant run Karen. Martin has asked me to remind you all that OWS starts again at Weirwood Reservoir on… More....
